Sean Kingston was rushed to the hospital Sunday, after his jet ski crashed into the Palm Island Bridge in Miami Beach.
"Sean was heading west from the MacArthur Causeway and Miami Beach Islands when his personal watercraft collided with the bridge, and he and his female passenger ended up in the water," Jorge Pino, spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, told People.com. "A good Samaritan tended to the two of them until Miami Beach Fire Rescue arrived and saw there were injuries."
The 21-year-old hip-hop star and his friend were taken to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center for treatment in Miami around 6 p.m.
"Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU," his rep said in a statement Sunday night. "Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."
The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but authorities are saying that alcohol doesn't seem to be a factor.
Justin Bieber, who recently collaborated with Kingston on the tune "Eenie Meeni," sent a shout-out to his pal on Monday. "Got my friend @seankingston in my prayers tonight," the 17-year-old twittered. "A true friend and big bro. please keep him in your prayers tonight as well."
Rihanna also sent her love to the "Beautiful Girls" singer via Twitter. "Sean we praying for u baby," she wrote on Monday.
